Some frequently asked questions...
Unfortunately, I cannot accomodate orders at such short notice .Every single cake I bake is baked fresh to order and unlike well known supermarkets, I can’t just take one off the shelf for you.
A lot of planning goes into each and every cake I make; I need to make sure I have the right size board and box for the cake you require. That I have enough ribbon, or wires for flowers etc and I need to go and buy the ingredients so that they are as fresh as possible. I do not keep cakes frozen on standby as to me, this does not constitute a ‘freshly baked’ cake. If you are wanting a model on the cake this can take several weeks to make as do sugar flowers. So you see, to the professional cake maker, no sponge cake is ever ‘simple’.
I have baked my own cake, can you decorate it for me?
I'm sorry but I do not decorate anyone else's cakes but my own, this is for a couple of reasons. The cost of covering and decorating someone elses cake is the same as if I baked it myself. However, the main reason is from a Health and Safety perspective. Whilst I am sure the cake is delicious, I cannot guarantee to you or your guests what it contains or prove where the ingredients were sourced. Should there be any problems with the cake it could pose a risk to my reputation and that of my business.
